Michael’s Steak Chalet had been in business for over 25 years when the 20 acre resort surrounding the restaurant was listed for sale. The Old Swiss Village Resort had been neglected for years. One of the oldest resorts at the Lake of the Ozarks originally known as Hildebrand’s Resort established in 1934 had several abandon cottages, an in-operable swimming pool, tennis courts and boat slips in need of serious repair. Brent Boyles, longtime owner of Michael’s Steak Chalet, was able to convince two of his college buddies Pat Quilty and Jake Tiggelaar that the property was a hidden “gem”. It took over 2.5 years of tearing down, cleaning up, and remodeling, but with the help of interior decorator Kim Loehr, owner of Interior Motifs, The Wein Haus was born in the Spring of 2019.

The Wein Haus is open Friday and Saturday at 4pm and is available to be rented for private events for weddings. The Wein Haus features premium wines and food is prepared from the kitchen at Michael’s Steak Chalet. Overlooking the Lake of the Ozarks, The Wein Haus features one of the “Best Views” at the lake as well as unforgettable sunsets.
